Every other Seamaster Diver 300M has its wave pattern cut into the dial. This one has it standing up.
The Paris 2024 edition uses a laser-engraved white ceramic dial given a matte finish, with the waves left polished and in positive relief — raised above the surface rather than sunk below it. The bezel does the same thing: an 18K Moonshine Gold ring with a laser-structured diving scale, also in positive relief, and a single dot of Super-LumiNova at twelve.
So this is a watch built almost entirely out of raised polished detail on matte ground, in a palette Omega describes as white, gold and black — following, in its own words, the official Olympic colour chart. Across the thirteen Diver 300M guides we've written, nothing else works this way.
The size: 20mm
This takes a 20mm strap. It's the 42mm Diver 300M case, and 20mm is verified across every 42mm reference in that generation we've covered.
The usual size warning applies: the 43.5mm ceramic Seamasters and the 44mm chronographs are a different width. Don't carry the number across to a bigger Seamaster in the same box.
On our product pages, select 20mm. Two of the four colours below are offered in that size only.
Omega built strap-changing into this watch
Here's what makes this reference different from every other Olympic Omega we've covered, and it's a detail most owners don't know they have.
The Paris 2024 edition introduced Omega's new patented Quick Change System on its bracelet — a mechanism designed specifically so the band comes off and goes back on without tools. Omega then paired it with a rack-and-push extendable clasp with a diver's extension. That is a manufacturer putting real engineering into the assumption that you will take the bracelet off.
Which changes the tone of this whole page. On every other watch in our Olympic set, swapping a strap on a special edition means tools, spring bars and a moment where a slipped blade could scar a case you can't replace. Here Omega removed that friction on purpose — and then sold the watch on a bracelet, with nothing in the box to change to.
The mechanism is an invitation with no second option attached. That's the gap worth filling, and it means the cost of simply trying a strap on this watch is close to zero.
One practical note. The white ceramic dial and the gold bezel ring are both hard, permanent surfaces, but the case is steel and takes marks like any other — so work on a soft cloth and keep the tool square to the bar.
The best straps for the Diver 300M Paris 2024
1. Black — the third colour
Omega named the palette itself: white, gold and black. Two of those you cannot put under a watch — the dial is already white and nobody cuts a gold strap worth having next to real Moonshine Gold. Black is the one you can, and it's not a neutral escape here, it's the third colour in the watch's own chart. A black rubber strap gives the matte white dial the darkest possible surround, which is exactly what makes raised polished gold read as gold. Start here.
2. White — continue the ceramic
The version that turns the watch into one object. A white rubber strap extends the matte white dial past the lugs, so the only things left with any colour or shine anywhere on the assembly are the gold bezel ring and the gold markers. It's the cleanest expression of the design and by some distance the best-photographing configuration here — though it asks more of you in upkeep than black does.
3. Navy blue — make it a diver again
Worth remembering what this actually is: three hundred metres, a helium escape valve at ten o'clock, a unidirectional bezel. A navy blue rubber strap is the one pick here that makes the watch read as a dive watch rather than a commemorative object — navy is the colour the collection has worn for thirty years, and against white and gold it grounds the whole thing. The choice for someone who bought it to wear rather than to keep.
4. Green — the wildcard
A styling call rather than a colour match, and worth saying so plainly: there is no green anywhere on this watch. But a gold ring against deep green is one of the oldest rich-looking combinations there is, and a green rubber strap does something none of the others manage — it makes the bezel read as jewellery rather than as trim, without adding anything bright. The most interesting thing you can put on this watch, and the least predictable.
The short version
20mm. Black for the third colour in Omega's own chart, white to continue the ceramic, navy to make it a diver again, green if you want the gold to look like gold.
